Handcrafted Bonsai Pots Made One at a Time

For more than 20 years, I’ve been creating handmade bonsai pottery from my studio in Batavia, Ohio. Each pot is individually handbuilt or wheel-thrown, fired to vitrified stoneware, and designed specifically for bonsai: durable, functional, and made to complement the tree rather than compete with it.

Every piece is made by hand with intention, patience, and respect for both the craft and the bonsai community.

American-Made Bonsai Pottery

I design and create bonsai containers for collectors, bonsai artists, teachers, nurseries, and dedicated hobbyists. My work is sold across the United States and beyond, valued for its strength, proportion, character, and reliability outdoors.

If you’re looking for handmade bonsai pots crafted by an experienced bonsai potter, you’re in the right place.

Built for Bonsai — Not Just Decorative Ceramics

Every pot is crafted with function first:

  • proper drainage

  • wiring capability

  • structural strength

  • vitrified stoneware for outdoor use

  • thoughtful proportion and balance

From there, I focus on form, surface, and character so the pot supports the tree’s presence and personality.

Limited-Production, Artist-Made Work

This is a one-person working studio. I make work in small batches and fire regularly throughout the year. Availability changes often, and some pieces sell quickly—no two pots are ever exactly alike. If you see something that feels right for your tree, don’t wait too long.

New Work Added Regularly

I fire several times each month and continue to add new pots as they come out of the kiln. Please check back often, and thank you for supporting handmade craft and the bonsai community.
